I wish I was one of those cool food bloggers… No wait I lied because that would mean I actually would have to cook often. I’d like to think of myself as a self proclaimed good cook however I feel like I’m more of a publicly accredited disaster. So you can take this blog for what it’s worth but I will say that my five-year-old daughter who barely eats anything and is picky as picky can be when eating, requests multiple helpings of this dish and even wants to eat leftovers!
Since I’m not a food blogger I don’t have one of those fancy looking food photos but I do have the whole two ingredients that I used to make this crockpot recipe.
OK, so I only consider it two ingredients however it’s actually whatever beef roast you like, a half a cup to 1 cup of water and a packet of zesty Italian salad dressing mix and a packet of au jus gravy mix! Literally that’s all it is.
The day that I made this the roast it was actually frozen to the black Styrofoam container from the store so I didn’t get to put it in the crockpot until after lunch when it had thawed out just a bit. I was a little scared that it would be dry with having to cook it quick and on high heat which makes this recipe even cooler because it was totally as moist as can be.
Simply put in the roast, add your water, add your two packets of mix and put the lid on! I set my crockpot on high heat and cooked for roughly 5 hours and it is literally my favorite and my family’s favorite roast I’ve ever made!
So if you’re looking for an incredibly easy crockpot recipe this fall this ladies could be your family’s new favorite too!
I should really come up with a cool name for this now, ideas?
I actually only came up with this idea as my sister in law had told me about her roast with the zesty Italian mix, brown gravy mix and a packet of dry ranch. I thought I had all 3 until I couldn’t find the ranch! So this accidental surprise turned out to be like one of those ideas that someone patents and makes millions off of because the world needed their product !
1 Roast (I used a 1.5lb chuck roast for my recipe)
1/2 cup to 1 cup of water (depending on size of roast)
1 packet of zesty Italian salad dressing mix
1 packet of Au Jus Gravy Mix
1. Put in roast
2. Add water
3. Add both packets of mix on top of roast and put on the lid!
4. I set my crockpot on high for 5 hours and it was delish, however you could still probably put on low for 6-7 hours as well!
5. Devour! We ate red potatoes and a side salad for our meal that night!
